A video of Bongo star Diamond Platnumz complaining about the government of Tanzania's ban on his songs has been making rounds on social media and finally landed in Kenya, attracting Kenyans' attention to an extent of producing its 'remix'.
In the video, 'I miss you' hit maker is hosted at one of the radio stations in Tanzania where he shared his disappointments with Magufuli's government for banning his new songs for no apparent reasons.
He argues that banning his songs does not downgrade him in any way because he got the rights to perform such banned songs outside Tanzania, giving Kenya as a good example where his songs are accepted warmly.
"Mimi ukinifungia nyimbo hainipunguzii kitu. Ukinifungia nikienda nje nitai-perform tu. Nikiona hutaki niiperform si naondoka nakaa nchi ingine tu? Nabaki huko nafanya nyimbo zangu. Sheria kama za Kenya zinaruhusu nyimbo kwa nini nisiperform? Unataka nife na njaa? Tiffa utamnunulia pampers? Utanisaidia kulisha familia yangu? Unajua mimi naangaika vipi? (Banning my songs does not cost me anything, I can perform such songs in other countries. If you stop me from performing in other countries, will you pay my bills? Will you support my family, do you know how am suffering?) questioned Diamond while he looked like he could break into tears.
The tone used by Diamond and how fast he was speaking in the video have made it perceived by many Kenyans as a funny video even though the singer himself was speaking in pain.
