BASATA bows to pressure allows Diamond Platnumz to perform in Kenya.

Tanzanian arts and culture council, BASATA, has backtracked on its move after giving Diamond Platnumz the go ahead to perform in other countries.
The council had previously barred the Bongo star from performing at any concerts within and outside Tanzania.

In a statement BASATA, however, still ordered the singer to refrain from performing within Tanzania over accusation of going against the country's morals.
Initially, the singer was demanded not to play or perform the song Mwanza in public settings, an order he ignored.

"BASATA held a meeting on December, 24 2018, to discuss the plight of renown musician Naseeb Abdul, Rayvanny and Wasafi company," the statement said.
The council further explained Diamond and his comrades have a tendency of mocking the law as they always go against it then ask for forgiveness later.
Godfrey Mngereza, an official at BASATA, was disappointed with some politicians' decision to play the singer's x-rated song during gatherings despite the ban.

However, since the Tanzanian heartthrob's concerts were sold out in other countries, he was given the lee way to perform.
"BASATA recognises the country needs to maintain great relations with its neighbours and lifts the ban imposed on Diamond. He is allowed to perform in those countries but the ban still stands in Tanzania," the council stated.
